Jharkhand Government Provide About 150 Acres Of Land In Ranchi For Azim Premji University

Jharkhand Azim Premji University Ranchi: The Jharkhand government on Wednesday decided to give about 150 acres of land on lease for 99 years for the establishment of the proposed Azim Premji University, Ranchi in the state. An agreement has been signed with the Azim Premji Foundation to set up a state-of-the-art university here with an investment of about Rs 3,000 crore. Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel told reporters that the decision to allot the land has been taken in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

‘International level university will be established’
Vandana Dadel informed that, “The cabinet approved the agreement reached between the Azim Premji Foundation and the state government for providing 120-150 acres of land on a long-term lease of 99 years for the establishment of the proposed Azim Premji University (Private University), Ranchi.” In response to the question of journalists, he told that there is a possibility of investment of Rs 3 thousand crore from the foundation on the establishment of this state-of-the-art university. The Foundation will set up an international level university here for modern education.

CEO Anurag Behar met CM Soren
It may also be mentioned here that Anurag Behar, CEO of Azim Premji Foundation met Chief Minister Hemant Soren in the month of December 2021 and reiterated his resolve to ensure his participation in the development of Jharkhand. During this, an announcement was also made regarding the establishment of a university in the state. During the meeting, Anurag Behar had told CM Homant Soren that the Foundation will play an active role in the development of education, quality education and improving the educational environment in Jharkhand. In the meeting, the Chief Minister assured the foundation of all possible cooperation from the government.
