Jharkhand BJP Leader Seema Patra Burn Maid Body: Jharkhand’s retired IAS’s wife and BJP leader Seema Patra has committed untold atrocities on Sunita, a domestic help. There are dozens of wounds on Sunita’s body. He was burnt at various places with a hot griddle, his front three or four teeth were broken with an iron rod. Even the food and water of Sunita, who was kept locked in the room, was stopped. She can’t even stand by herself. Sound is not coming out of his mouth properly. He is undergoing treatment at RIMS in Ranchi. On the information of an officer of the Personnel Department of the Government of Jharkhand, the Ranchi police freed the BJP leader from his Ashok Nagar residence in Ranchi on August 22, but no one has been arrested in the case so far.

Coming from the tribal community, Sunita is a resident of a village in Gumla. About 10 years ago, she was brought to work as a maid at the house of retired IAS Maheshwar Patra and BJP leader Seema Patra. Later she was sent along with her daughter Vatsala Patra living in Delhi. After her transfer from Delhi, Sunita came back to Seema Patra’s house in Ranchi. She was always harassed while working here. When he asked permission to go home, he was beaten up and locked in the room. Beating on every matter became common. Dozens of times he was burnt with a hot griddle. The room where Sunita was locked up had her bedroom and bathroom. Due to continuous beating, her condition became such that she used to drag and move on the floor. If by mistake Sunita’s urine went out of the room, she had to clean it by licking it with her mouth.

Personnel department officer Vivek Baski somehow came to know about the atrocities on Sunita, then he complained to DC Rahul Kumar Sinha. After this, Sunita was freed in the presence of the magistrate. On the complaint of Vivek Baski, an FIR has been registered under sections 323, 325, 346, 374 of IPC and SC-ST Act 1989 at Argora police station in Ranchi. Argora police station in-charge says that after Sunita’s condition improves, her statement will be recorded in the court under section 164.
