Government Jobs: Olympic and Paralympic (Winners in Olympics and Paralympics) medal winners in (Sportspersons) to the Government of Karnataka (Karnataka Govt.) Government Job (Govt Jobs) will give Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai (CM Basavaraj Bommai) has ordered direct recruitment of sportspersons for government jobs. CM Bommai said that the Recruitment Sports Department (sports department) through a Selection Committee headed by the Additional Chief Secretary.
Jobs will be available in different categories
CM said that Karnataka will offer Group-A jobs to medal winners and degree holders in Olympics and Paralympics. Speaking at a function organized to present Eklavya Khel Puraskar and other sports awards, Chief Minister Bommai on Tuesday said that winners and degree holders in Asian Games and Commonwealth Games will be given Group-B jobs. Apart from this, those who win medals in other sports events will be given Group-C and Group-D jobs. He said, “Except Karnataka, there is no policy to give jobs to sportspersons in any other state.”
Will also give training to the players
Bommai said that from August 15, 2022, the government has adopted 75 athletes and will train them for the next Paris Olympics. CM said that they will be given training for four years by good coaches. Facilities will also be provided to the players to continue their studies. For this, the government aims to spend Rs 10 lakh on each player. The CM said that more funds would be given if required. Athletes have to show good performance in the Commonwealth.
The Chief Minister said that young athletes are the asset of the country and if they work hard with sincerity, success is certain. The CM said that both the state and central governments have given importance to it. Sports would develop into a hobby and then it would be considered a symbol of nationalism. The identity of any nation is based on its performance in sports. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken several steps.
He further said that youth policy will be brought for youth empowerment and development of sports and both will be given due importance. The CM said that the urge to win is essential in sports and one should not play to lose. The CM informed that 2% posts are reserved for sportspersons in the Home Department.
