The Patna High Court has expressed its displeasure over the delay in the release of results by various universities of Bihar for not conducting examinations on time. Giving a stern warning, the High Court has also imposed fine on the VCs of five universities including Magath University, Purnia University, Patliputra University. Along with this, the Vice-Chancellor of Veer Kunwar Singh University and the Registrar of Magadh University have been summoned. A division bench of Chief Justice Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice Partha Sarathi heard the PIL filed by Vivek Raj.

The Patna High Court on Tuesday said that the future of the students is affected due to not taking the exams on time and not releasing the results. In this case, many universities of the state clarified their position by filing affidavits. By filing an affidavit on behalf of BN Mandal University, the court was told that the result of all examinations would be released by December, while the result of LLB third semester would be released by February 2023 and the result of PG fourth semester would be released by April 2023.

TNB Bhagalpur University has given information about the pending examinations. Along with this, when the examination of which course will be taken and when the result will be published. Approving this, the court ordered to take the exam on time and release the result.

The court imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 for not filing an affidavit on behalf of Veer Kunwar Singh University. At the same time, the VC was ordered to appear in the court on 14 December. The court ordered to give full details about the delay in the examination and result.

Purnia University has been ordered by the High Court to give complete information about the delay in the examination and the delay in publishing the result within a week. A fine of Rs 5,000 was imposed on the VC for not filing the affidavit. The hearing could not be held as the affidavit filed by BRA Bihar University was not on record. The court ordered a hearing on Wednesday.
