It has been two and a half years since the appointment of civil police officers through PSC has stopped. Still the new rank list is delayed. The preliminary, main and fitness tests have been completed. Few of the candidates in the physical fitness test have appealed for re-examination. Only after completing this, the rank list can be prepared. 299 NJD Vacancy of CPO in 7 Battalion already reported in PSC. It is expected that more vacancies will be reported once the rank list is published.

3 years since notification

PSC has published the notification of this post in the gazette dated 31st December 2019. Earlier, PSC published the rank list on the basis of OMR exam and physical fitness test only, but this time PSC decided to conduct the preliminary and main exams, which led to the delay in the publication of the list. The examination was held on 10th and 18th April 2021 along with Plus Two Level Preliminary Examination. The main exam was held for the winners on March 20. The physical fitness test was also completed in the months of October-November. Now all that’s left is re-harvesting.

5609 people were appointed

The previous rank list for this post came into force on 1st July 2019. On 30th June 2020, the rank list of all the seven battalions is over after completing one year period. The appointment recommendation in the previous list was started very late as the process was stopped due to cheating in the examination. Due to this, the candidates demanded to extend the period of the rank list, but the government was not ready. 5609 people in 7 battalions got appointment recommendation in previous list.

Vacancies will not decrease

As the previous rank list was canceled and published after two and a half years, there is no possibility of reduction in appointment from the civil police officer rank lists this time. Only NJD vacancies have been reported so far. Retirement vacancies are not reported. In the RTI response received by the candidates, it is clear that there are 160 vacancies in SAP alone. There are chances of many vacancies in other battalions as well.

The State has constituted SISF (State Industrial Security Force) on the model of CISF, the central force for the protection of industrial establishments. It functions as a special wing of the Kerala Police. SISF provides security to various institutions like Kochi Metro, Reserve Bank, Infopark etc. More government institutions and private institutions have requested their services. Recruitment in SISF is on deputation from various police battalions. Civil police are more likely to be recruited into SISF

It will be beneficial for those who are in the officer rank list.
