Explain that the Ministry of Education had earlier announced that admission to universities would be based on a common entrance test. The Union Ministry of Education constituted a committee to look into the modalities of CUCET for admission to all undergraduate courses in Central Universities proposed under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
“The National Testing Agency (NTA) shall work towards conducting high-quality general aptitude tests at least twice every year as well as specialized general subject tests in science, humanities, languages, arts and vocational subjects,” the new proposal said. The National Education Policy was done in 2021.
On the other hand, the University Grants Commission had on July 16 issued guidelines for the new academic session 2021-22 and asked universities to complete admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate programs by September 30. The UGC has also asked universities and colleges to complete the end semester or final year examinations by August 30.
