PSC preliminary exam for graduate level posts will be held next month. Unlike the earlier conducted class 10th and plus two level preliminary exams, more standard questions are to be expected. We have seen high quality questions in the graduation preliminary examination held last year. And high cut-off marks indicate the rigor of competition in degree level exams. Therefore, the study should be more in-depth. For this, the sections of the syllabus in the plus two text books for History, Geography, Political Science and Economics should be looked at in their entirety.

Distance education books of universities can also be used for additional information. Apart from these, books such as India History published by PSC Bulletin, Kerala History by Sreedhara Menon and Indian Politics by Laxmikant can also be used for additional reading. In the science part, more questions are seen from the textbooks of the higher secondary section. Malayalam, English, Mathematics and Current Affairs are the areas that remain unchanged. So marks in these areas are crucial in clearing the prelims.

If you can’t score at least 20–30 marks from here, it will be difficult to clear the prelims. Give more importance to India and Kerala sections in current affairs. The influence of school textbooks and question papers was seen in the sections covered in the syllabus. Expect questions from this exam too.

1) Mathematics- Mental Analytical Ability- 20

2) English- 20

3) Malayalam- 10

4) Art, Sports, Literature- 10

5) History- 10

6) Civics- 5

7) Constitution- 5

8) Information Technology – 5

9) Economics- 5

10) Science and Technology – 5

11) Geography – 5

Expect marks approx. There are a few things to watch out for in the final round. Re-verify what you have learned, pay attention once again and make up your mind once again about awards (at the Center and in Kerala), posts, Cabinet, functions of commissions, duties, etc. Try to run through the things mentioned in the syllabus once again. Don’t just try to get certain marks thinking that it is preliminary exam. Cut off marks will be different for each post. So try to score maximum marks. The cut off marks will be higher for the less vacant posts. Scoring maximum marks will help you qualify for more posts.
