The 11th Regional Rural Bank (RRB) prelims exam conducted by IBPS is scheduled to be held in August. Phase-2 exam is proposed in September-October. This time the recruitment exam is being conducted for a total of 8,106 posts. These posts include the posts of Office Assistant, Officer Scale-1, 2 and 3. The posts of Officer-1 are also known as PO and the posts of Office Assistant are also known as RRB Clerk. There are only two sections Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude in the Officer Scale exam.
Similarly, the Pre of Office Assistant also has two sections, Reasoning Ability and Numerical Ability. There are total 80 questions of 80 marks in both the exams. 45 minutes are given to solve both the sections. Very little time is left for the exam. In such a situation, now for the preparation, pay more attention to those topics which are scoring.
12 lakh candidates apply every year
In the year 2020-21, 7.06 lakh candidates had applied for the posts of Office Assistant. Whereas 5.95 lakh candidates had applied for the posts of officers. Similarly, 7.13 lakh candidates had applied for the posts of Office Assistant in 2019-20. The number of applicants who applied for the posts of officers this year was 5.39 lakhs. Candidates of Office Assistant and Officer Scale-I will have to appear in Pre and Mains.
At the same time, interview is also conducted for the posts of all officer scales. There is no mains exam for Officer Scale-2 and 3 candidates. Apart from Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning, sections of English, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge are also added in Phase-2 i.e. Mains exam.
Solve Arithmetic Later
Both the exams will have questions from series, syllogism and equality. According to experts, these can be solved in 3 to 4 minutes. So solve them first. In PO exam, siting arrangement and puzzles should be solved later as they take more time. Also, solve the arithmetic questions in both the exams later as these also take more time.
Due to more number of candidates, there is more competition in the examination. In such a situation, according to experts, the chances of selection will increase only by giving at least two mock tests online every day.
Cutoff reaches 78 marks in clerk exam
According to Jayant Bothra, expert of banking examinations, 3 to 4 marks are given as a reward for not giving wrong answers or making fewer mistakes in the exam. Understand this in this way, if a candidate has answered 70 questions in the examination and if the answer to a single question is not wrong, then he can get 73 to 74 marks also.
Bothra also says that the difficulty level of questions in the exam is less. This is the reason that in many states the cutoff of clerk reaches up to 78 marks. In such a situation, the whole game of being successful in the exam is about speed and accuracy.
