Thiruvananthapuram: Appointments to the Kerala Excise Workers Welfare Fund Board will be brought under the purview of the Kerala Public Service Commission. The Cabinet approved the draft amendment to include the institution in the PSC Act.

KAS: Creating temporary posts
Thiruvananthapuram: The Cabinet has decided to create a temporary post in the Public Administration Department to provide salaries and other benefits to Kerala Administrative Service (KAS) officers during their training. A total of 105 people have been recruited as trainees (Junior Time Scale) in KAS so far with 35 people in 3 streams.
Their starting salary scale is Rs 81,800. The posts of Under Secretary (just below Higher Grade) in the Public Administration Department will be created on par with this amount. These posts will be abolished on completion of their training period. The Cabinet also decided to apply this decision to all future KAS appointments.
