A total of 92.66 per cent students passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or Class 12 examinations conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHE) in April 2022, according to the results announced on Saturday.
Board Chairman Bhagirath Shetty told here that a total of 94.58 percent girls and 90.66 percent boys have passed the exam.
Schools in Tiswadi tehsil performed the best with 95.92 per cent students passing the exam, while schools in Quepem tehsil registered the lowest pass rate of 86.23 per cent.
The exam was conducted offline. Shete told reporters that GBSHE had adopted a special assessment plan for the academic year 2021-22 in view of the school closures and the challenges of conducting examinations during the coronavirus pandemic.
Of the total 18,112 students who appeared in the exam, 16,783 passed. Commerce stream had the highest pass percentage of 95.71 percent, followed by Arts stream with 95.68 percent. 93.95 per cent students of science stream and 79.04 per cent students of vocational stream passed the exam.
Some 349 students obtained sports qualifying marks.
