Schools to open for 8th and 11th classes from Oct. 21 – State Government Announcement!
Orissa has announced the resumption of live classes for 8th and 11th class students from October 21 following the decline in the spread of corona infection.
The 2nd wave of corona infection is declining across the country. Thus many state governments and higher education institutions have been issuing announcements about starting direct classes. Direct classes for colleges and high school students have been started in many states. Starting live classes for elementary students is being discussed. In the state of Odisha, 521 new cases were reported last Thursday, 94 less than the previous day.

Thus far the number of infected people in the state is 10,33,809. The death toll from the corona virus has risen to 8,274 so far, with six new deaths. The state government is considering reopening schools as the incidence of corona infection in the state has reduced. Previously live classes for 9th and 12th grade students had already been started following systematic compliance with health care guidelines.

Currently, Minister of Schools and Mass Education SR Dash has given permission to start direct classes for 8th and 11th grade students from October 21st. No final decision has been made regarding the reopening of schools for students from Class 1 to Class 7. It has been informed that the final decision on starting direct classes for primary students will be taken after the completion of Navratri Puja holidays.
