Police Recruitment 2021: Odisha Police has invited applications for the 721 Sub-Inspector and Constable Posts. This recruitment process will start from 22nd June 2021. For the first time, the Odisha Police Board has allowed transgender recruitment for these posts. On the decision of transgender recruitment, Meera Parida, Chairman, All India Transgender Welfare Association said, “We thank the Chief Minister and the Home Department for this decision taken towards gender equality and development of the transgender community. This step will not only boost their confidence but will also change the perception of the society towards the transgender community.”

According to the notification released on the official website, 477 Sub Inspector and 244 Constable posts will be recruited through Odisha Police Recruitment 2021. Candidates will be able to apply online for these posts from 22 June to 15 July 2021. It is expected that the recruitment exam will be conducted in August 2021.

To apply for the constable posts, the candidate should have passed class 12th from CHSE Odisha or its equivalent board. Whereas, for the post of Sub Inspector, the candidate must be a graduate from a recognized university. Apart from this, the candidate should have knowledge of the local language, as well as the language studied in the Higher Secondary Examination. Apart from this, the candidate’s age should be between 18 years to 23 years to apply for the post of constable. At the same time, the age of the candidate for the post of Sub Inspector should be between 21 years to 25 years.

Talking about the selection process, candidates will be selected on the basis of written test, physical standard and physical efficiency test. There will be two papers of 300 marks in the written examination. The first paper will be of General English and Oriya language. This paper will be of 100 marks and for this 90 minutes will be given. The second paper will be of General Studies. Questions will be asked for 200 marks, for which 180 minutes will be given. For more details candidates can check official notification.
