The Nutrition 2.0 mission will be launched to improve nutritional content, delivery and results. It will merge the Potion Campaign and Supplementary Nutrition Program.
According to the general budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on 01 February 2021, Mission Nutrition 2.0 (Mission Poshan 2.0) will be launched by merging the Supplemental Nutrition Program and Nutrition Campaign.
The Finance Minister said in the budget speech that the government will merge the Supplemental Nutrition Program and the Nutrition Campaign to increase the supply of nutrients as well as to improve their supply, access and results and launch Mission Nutrition 2.0.
20,105 crore allocated
He said that the government will adopt an intensive strategy to improve nutritional outcomes in all 112 districts. Out of the Rs 24,435 crore allocated to the Ministry of Women and Child Development in the budget, an amount of Rs 20,105 crore has been allocated to the competent Anganwadi and Nutrition 2.0.
Mission POSHAN 2.0, prioritizing 112 aspirational districts, will develop practices that will nurture health, wellness & immunity of children and pregnant women thereby making a concerted effort towards eradicating malnutrition from its roots. #AatmanirbharBharatKaBudget

What is mission nutrition?
This mission was started in the year 2018. Under the policy prepared by the National Nutrition Mission NITI Aayog, India is to be free from malnutrition by the year 2022. With the help of this scheme, children suffering from undernutrition, anemia, pregnant women or adolescent girls can be helped.
