The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS) under the Ministry of Water Power has converted 12 iconic sites under Phase IV of the Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin (SBM-G) Swachh Reputed Places (SIP) initiative Has announced the selection of.
The project is being coordinated by the Department of Water and Drinking Water of the Ministry of Water Power in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Culture and the governments of the respective State / Union Territories.

Clean Prestigious Places (SIP) initiative
• Swachh iconic initiative focuses on cleaning 100 locations across India. All these sites are “prestigious” due to their heritage, religious or cultural significance.
• The objective of this initiative is to improve the sanitation conditions at these places to a high level and to achieve this objective the Nodal Ministry MDWS is partnering with the Ministries of Urban Development, Tourism and Culture.
• Public sector undertakings have been nominated for financial and technical assistance in all reputed sites.
